Our School

The Fountain Christian School is a low-cost independent classical Christian primary school, opening in Westminster, London in September 2026.

The Fountain opens in September 2026. Our Founding Cohort is for pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.

As the school grows, we will grow with our Founding Cohort. Our long term ambition is to create an all-through school, taking children from Reception age all the way through to the age of 18.

If you are a prospective parent wondering if The Fountain is the right school for your child, find out more about our school in this section.

A full-time education in four days

At The Fountain, the school week runs from Monday to Thursday.

We have chosen this shape for our week out of a simple conviction: that school is at its best when it works in partnership with the family. So much of a child's formation happens in the classroom, and so much happens beyond it: around the dinner table, in rest and worship, in service to others, and in the unhurried hours in which gifts are discovered and friendships deepen. By gathering our teaching into four full days, we hope to give families a little more room for all of this.

Our school day runs from 08:30 to 16:00, a longer day than is usual, so that over four days our pupils receive thirty hours of supervised education and the full curriculum.

Fridays belong to the family: time together, the cultivation of a child's particular gifts, shared endeavour in mission, or simply rest.

The National Curriculum is full of great knowledge and skills that are necessary for healthy child development, including social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development. The compulsory subjects of English, mathematics, science, history, geography, art, music, physical education and ancient and modern foreign languages will all be taught with relish and rigour at The Fountain.

However, in many cases we wish to exceed the standards and content of the National Curriculum. To take three examples:

  • We will give our pupils a thorough grounding not merely in British and world history, but also the history of the church.

  • We will give our pupils not only a good understanding of the key tenets of Christianity and other religions, but also a thorough immersion in Scripture.

  • We will prioritise memorisation of key, life-changing works such as Psalm 23, as well as memorisation of foundational knowledge that anchors our understanding of the world, such as timelines of world history and geography, key scientific principles, and key quotes from great works of literature.

What makes The Fountain unique is the purpose behind why we teach our curriculum. We teach knowledge and skills not so our pupils can tick a box or pass a test; we will always teach knowledge and skills that will help our pupils become wise. At every stage we will emphasise how they can use what they learn to grow in their love for one another, their love for creation, and their love for their Creator.

Fees and Bursaries

The Fountain is a low-cost independent school, with our fees set 50% lower than the average London private school fees, reflecting our desire to be as accessible as we can.

We are also seeking to grow our means-tested bursary fund for families who are fully on board with the vision of The Fountain, yet who would otherwise be unable to afford the school.

Bursaries come from the Fellowship for Classical Learning's Wesley Scholarship Fund and are means-tested. Awards range from 15% to 90% of fees, subject to the funds available in any given year.

We offer the following bursaries, all of which are means-tested:

  • Entry bursary: for families applying for a place.

  • Hardship bursary: for families already with us, whose circumstances change unexpectedly and significantly, for example through job loss, serious illness, bereavement or relationship breakdown.

  • Sibling discount

We also offer a discount for clergy and those working in Christian ministry.

Bursary awards are reviewed each year.
