Information
The Fountain Christian School is a low-cost independent classical Christian primary school, opening in Westminster, London in September 2026.
In September 2026, our Founding Cohort will be open to Reception and Year 1 aged children, with the potential of Year 2 if there is sufficient demand.
As the school grows, we will grow with our Founding Cohort. Our long term ambition is to create an all-through school, taking children from Reception age all the way through to the age of 18.
Location
The Fountain Christian School will be located in Buckingham Gate, SW1, a short walk away from multiple Tube and bus stops.
Nearest Tube stations:
St James’s Park (District and Circle lines) - 3 minute walk
Victoria Station (Victoria line and National Rail) - 6 minute walk
Green Park Station (Jubilee line, Picadilly line) - 13 minute walk
Fees
The Fountain is a low-cost independent school, with our fees set 50% lower than the average London private school fees, reflecting our desire to be as accessible as we can.
We are also seeking to grow our means-tested bursary fund for families who are fully on board with the vision of The Fountain, yet who would otherwise be unable to afford the school.
Teaching Staff
Mr Hin-Tai Ting is the Founding Headmaster of The Fountain Christian School. He has served in a variety of leadership roles at Michaela Community School - the top performing school by the government’s key Progress 8 metric for the last 3 yeaers in a row - including in training teachers how to teach.
We are in the process of recruiting experienced teachers for our Founding Cohort who exemplify a classical Christian approach to education. Our teachers will be two things above all:
Christian role models for the children in their class, and
Expert pedagogues who teach children to read, write, become numerate, and love truth, beauty and goodness.

Full time school with a four-day option
At The Fountain, our school weeks will look like this:
Mondays to Thursdays are when the main portion of academic learning takes place
Fridays are set aside as a day of enrichment activities and reviewing of academic material from earlier in the week
If you are a parent who wishes to have your child spend Fridays outside of school - whether for extra time with family, for developing their gifts, or pursuing mission together - we offer a four-day option, on a termly basis.
This four-day option means your child can attend The Fountain from Monday to Thursday, without missing out on academic learning. Our fees will also reflect this arrangement.
Curriculum
The National Curriculum is full of great knowledge and skills that are necessary for healthy child development, including social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development. The compulsory subjects of English, mathematics, science, history, geography, art, music, physical education and ancient and modern foreign languages will all be taught with relish and rigour at The Fountain.
However, in many cases we wish to exceed the standards and content of the National Curriculum. To take three examples:
We will give our pupils a thorough grounding not merely in British and world history, but also the history of the church.
We will give our pupils not only a good understanding of the key tenets of Christianity and other religions, but also a thorough immersion in Scripture.
We will prioritise memorisation of key, life-changing works such as Psalm 23, as well as memorisation of foundational knowledge that anchors our understanding of the world, such as timelines of world history and geography, key scientific principles, and key quotes from great works of literature.
What makes The Fountain unique is the purpose behind why we teach our curriculum. We teach knowledge and skills not so our pupils can tick a box or pass a test; we will always teach knowledge and skills that will help our pupils become wise. At every stage we will emphasise how they can use what they learn to grow in their love for one another, their love for creation, and their love for their Creator.

Yes, there will be a school uniform. The Fountain’s uniform is an expression of our unity and of the dignity of the calling of a pupil to grow in wisdom and virtue.

As an ecumenical classical Christian school, we warmly welcome all Christians who are aligned with our five key values and our doctrinal statement (see below), as well as families who are supportive of our teaching and promotion of our five key values and doctrinal statement.
Since The Fountain is a school and not a church, we believe that important beliefs where Christians might differ are best taught in homes and churches, instead of at school.
The liturgical and devotional aspects of school life, including the forms of prayer, songs, and Bible translations that we use, will reflect beliefs common to our shared inheritance.
When diverging Christian beliefs and practices are discussed during usual academic study, for example in history or theology or Bible lessons, our teachers will lead the discussion from a historical viewpoint. Our staff will not teach their personal convictions on areas which are doctrinally disputed. They will instead aim to cultivate among our students an understanding and appreciation of both the variations within and the fundamental unity of the Christian faith.

As an intentionally ecumenical community, The Fountain Christian School finds its unity in the beliefs articulated in the Apostles’ Creed. This rule of faith is a confession common to all Christian denominations and traditions alike.
I believe in God the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died and was buried.
He descended into hell.
The third day He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
From thence He will come
to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. In addition to the teachings concerning the Holy Trinity, creation, the incarnation and virgin birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ, and bodily resurrection confessed in the above creed, we also hold those truths believed by Christians of every time and place which are most closely aligned with the mission of the school. Among these, we mention specifically the following:
There is no salvation apart from Christ Jesus who said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)
The Holy Scriptures are “given by inspiration of God, and [are] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life (Psalm 139).
This statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Christian scriptures, as the inspired word of God, serve as the supreme source of truth and morality and are the standard of our teaching and code of conduct.
For purposes of the school’s doctrine, practice, and discipline, our board of trustees is responsible for determining and developing the school’s policies and evaluating their implementation.

As part of the process of founding a new school, Ofsted will inspect us on behalf of the Department for Education to ensure that we will provide a suitable education and that we are ready to open. We will then receive regular independent inspections from that point onwards.
