FOUNDING HEADMASTER

Hin-Tai has a First Class degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford. He has spent most of his career working with the visionary Headmistress Katharine Birbalsingh at the world-famous Michaela Community School. At Michaela, Hin-Tai has held a wide range of leadership roles, including Head of Year, Head of Department & Head of New Teacher Training. When he was Head of Year 11, his year group achieved the top mathematics Progress 8 score across the whole of England. He has spoken internationally and led teacher development on the power of classical Christian education to speak to our deepest needs.

FOUNDING TEACHER

Katie trained as a teacher with Ark, UK’s top-performing primary school group, and she is currently an Assistant Headteacher at a Church of England primary school. She holds a BA (Hons) in Politics, a PGCE in Primary Education and an MA in Educational Leadership from UCL. She is also pursuing an MA in Contemporary Christian Leadership at Oak Hill College. She brings international experience of Classical Christian education from her time teaching at Grace Primary School in Cape Town.

TEACHING FELLOW

Hils received her undergraduate degree in English Literature at Cambridge University, and her PGCE at Oxford University. She has worked in schools in a number of roles, including Head of English and house tutor, and her most recent vocation has been raising her five children across five countries as a military wife, including periods of home educating them according to classical Christian principles.

TEACHING FELLOW

Esther studied English Literature at Durham University and has worked in the charities sector as a Communications Lead. Alongside assisting with classroom teaching, she will assist with our operations work. She has spent a number of summer holidays leading teaching sessions for four- to six-year-olds at a Christian summer holiday camp in France. She leads Sunday school for eight- to twelve-year-olds at her church, and is keen to explore teaching as a longer term vocation.

MUSIC AND PE TEACHER

An accomplished violist, pianist and singer, Katie leads worship at her church. A former collegiate heptathlete, she has coached and refereed sport at various levels, including as head coach of a girls' football team. Katie graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BA in Studio Art and minors in Art History and Christian Studies, has several years of primary classroom teaching experience, and is currently pursuing an MA in Renaissance history at the Warburg Institute. Originally from New England, USA, Katie joins The Fountain out of a deep alignment with its vision for classical Christian education and a genuine love of working with children.

CURRICULUM LEAD

Hannah leads curriculum planning and design at The Fountain. She holds a First Class degree in Theology from Manchester University, with training in Hebrew and Greek, and a PGCE in Primary Education. Formerly a Senior Leader at a London primary school, she played a key role in curriculum development by introducing a mastery approach in maths (from Early Years up to Year 6), developing KS2 literacy units, and writing a full computing curriculum. She has tutored in maths, early reading and phonics, and has directed several primary musical productions, including Bugsy Malone and Joseph!

CHAIR OF GOVERNORS

Kat is an Executive Director at Goldman Sachs where she works in the wealth management business. Prior to this she led investment research efforts around investing in education and authored a white paper titled “The Future of Learning”. She is also a trustee for Stewardship and a qualified executive coach. 

EXECUTIVE ADVISOR

Stephanie has a First Class degree in Law from the LSE and a postgraduate degree in Law (BCL) from Oxford. She served as Head of Music at Michaela Community School, where she is currently a governor responsible for safeguarding. She is a stay-at-home mum to three young children.

PROJECT MANAGER

Alex is a chartered engineer and project professional, having spent more than a decade working on major energy projects across Europe and Asia. He’s currently a commercial project manager on one of the UK’s largest infrastructure projects and is passionate about delivering!
