Admissions

Applications are open for entry in September 2027. We are offering places for Reception, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3.

In this section you will find a step by step guide to our application process, key dates, our fees and details of our means-tested bursaries.

If you have any questions about our admissions process, please email us at admissions@thefountainschool.london

Note: If you already have a child attending The Fountain and would like to apply for a place for a sibling, please contact the school to find out our admission process for siblings.

How to apply: step by step guide for parents

Step 1: Come to a Vision and Information Evening

These evening sessions are held online, one in October, November and January. Hin-Tai Ting, our Headmaster, will share the vision behind the school and cover key information for prospective parents. There will be time for questions that you can submit during the zoom call. All three sessions cover the same material, so you only need to attend one.

Step 2: Visit us

School tours, on site in Westminster Chapel, are offered to families who have attended a Vision and Information Evening. They take place in the weeks following each one.

Step 3. Apply online

Prospective parents who have attended a Vision and Information Evening are also invited to apply by submitting the online Application Form. There is a one-off application fee of £90, payable when you submit your child's application.

Churchgoing families are asked to have their church leader complete a short Supplementary Form. We warmly welcome families of all faiths and of none; where we are oversubscribed, church attendance is one factor we take into account (see our Admissions Policy).

Bursaries: If you would like to be considered for a means-tested bursary, please fill in the Bursary Form at this stage, to be submitted alongside your main Application Form.

Step 4: Family interview

We will invite you and your child for an interview with the Headmaster. Your child will be invited to engage in a short activity, which is designed to be done on the spot so there is nothing to practise beforehand. The Headmaster will get to know you and explore whether The Fountain is right for your family, and you will have an opportunity to ask further questions.

Offer

If we offer a place for your child, you accept it by returning the Acceptance Form and paying the deposit of one term’s fees.

What do we look for?

We want to get to know your child and to understand whether they are likely to flourish here and benefit from the education we offer. We are looking for children who show readiness for a broad and stretching classical Christian curriculum.

Many of the families who apply to us are Christian, but we warmly welcome applications from families of all faiths and of none. We do not require parents to share our Christian faith, but we do ask that they fully support the school's Christian ethos and know that their child will participate in Christian worship daily at school.

In addition, every family who joins the school also makes our smart phone commitment, undertaking not to give their child a personal smartphone during their time at The Fountain. We encourage you to read about it before applying.

For full details of how we assess, and how places are allocated, please see our Admissions Policy.

Fees 2027-28

The Fountain is a low-cost independent school, with our fees set 50% lower than the average London private school fees, reflecting our desire to be as accessible as we can.

Bursaries

Bursaries come from the Fellowship for Classical Learning's Wesley Scholarship Fund and are means-tested. Awards range from 15% to 90% of fees, subject to the funds available in any given year.

We offer the following bursaries, all of which are means-tested:

  • Entry bursary: for families applying for a place.

  • Hardship bursary: for families already with us, whose circumstances change unexpectedly and significantly, for example through job loss, serious illness, bereavement or relationship breakdown.

  • Sibling discount

We also offer a discount for clergy and those working in Christian ministry.

Bursary awards are reviewed each year.

To apply for a bursary, complete the Bursary Application Form (fillable PDF) and return it by Friday 29 January 2027, the same day as the main application deadline. We assess in February and send bursary outcomes with our offers on Friday 5 March 2027.
